DENVER – Boulder County, Colorado homeowners and renters, who
applied for FEMA disaster assistance because of the Marshall Fire or
straight-line winds, should ensure their application to FEMA is up to
date. This can be done by submitting a copy of the insurance
settlement or denial letter, any information received regarding
Additional Living Expenses (ALE) as well as any changes of address or
information to FEMA.

If you have received a settlement or denial letter from your insurance
company, it’s important to share this information with FEMA. This
information is crucial to updating your FEMA case. While FEMA is
prohibited, by law, from duplicating benefits that are covered by
insurance, if the ALE you have been receiving from your insurance
company will be exhausted prior to July 1, 2023, FEMA may be able to
help with additional rental assistance.

available. The toll-free numbers are open every day from 5 a.m. to 9
p.m. MST. If you use a relay service, such as video relay service
(VRS), captioned phone, or others, give FEMA the number for that
service.

Individuals who update their information must provide their nine-digit
application number which is listed on all correspondence from FEMA.

If the SBA application is not approved, individuals may qualify for an
Other Needs Assistance (ONA) grant through FEMA. ONA may be used for
disaster-related childcare, medical and dental expenses, automobile
repair or replacement, and for damaged household items such as
clothing or necessary educational materials.
