FEMA MOBILE REGISTRATION INTAKE CENTER OPENS IN PLACER COUNTY [https://www.fema.gov/press-release/20210908/fema-mobile-registration-intake-center-opens-placer-county] Release Date: September 8, 2021 SACRAMENTO, CALIF. – A Mobile Registration Intake Center (MRIC) will open in Placer County for survivors whose uninsured and underinsured primary residence was damaged or destroyed by the River Fire. Two locations will be available for three days from Thursday, Sept. 9 to Saturday, Sept. 11. The MRIC will be staffed by FEMA personnel to assist with registration and answer questions about disaster assistance programs. The easiest way to register is online at DisasterAssistance.gov [https://www.disasterassistance.gov/]. Survivors may also call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362 (TTY 800-462-7585) from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. PT, seven days a week. Multi-lingual operators are available. Applicants for disaster assistance should have the following on-hand before contacting FEMA: their Social Security number, address of the damaged primary residence, a description of the damage, information about their insurance coverage, current contact number and address where they can receive mail, and bank account and routing numbers for the direct deposit of funds. The MRICs will be accessible for individuals with disabilities and access and functional needs, with on-site communication accessibility tools including amplified listening devices and Video Remote Interpreting.
