History
Atlantic City, a town with 928 National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP)-insured properties, was ravaged by Hurricane Sandy, and beginning in 2016, Atlantic City has been rehabilitating the Baltic Avenue Canal. Once infrastructure improvements are completed, the Baltic Canal Drainage Area will have the capacity to fully mitigate stormwater runoff and decrease flooding, impacting over 850 acres of the city.
Project Description
The entire City of Atlantic City, specifically the neighborhoods of Ducktown, Midtown, Inlet, and Westside, benefit from this project. Surrounding neighborhoods, such as Chelsea, Back Maryland and Bungalow Park will also benefit from the increased drainage capacity.
