We challenged young people across Colorado to make their communities more resilient to natural hazards. Ten proposals were selected by a panel of judges to compete for prize money on May 12 at the RISE Challenge Youth Summit. Join us live at Noon MT to learn about their innovative solutions!

  • Install Informational Sign About Invasive Species in Northern Colorado
  • Lasting Impacts of 2013 Flood Event at Pella Crossing and Rooney Pond
  • Middle School Education and Wildfires in Northern Colorado
  • Model for Decreasing Storm water Pollution
  • Natural Hazard Awareness Board for the Homeless
  • Northern Redbelly Dace Conservation Project
  • Plan, Prepare & Preserve Wildfire Readiness
  • Poudre River Watershed Erosion Control
  • Project: Shower Head
  • Wildfire Awareness in Denver

The RISE Challenge is part classroom lesson, part competition, and part summit. We help educators to engage students in the exploration of their communities to determine their vulnerabilities to natural disasters and task them with developing their own ideas for making their community more resilient.
