During September, we recognize National Preparedness Month, an important time to raise awareness about the importance of preparing for disasters and emergencies that could happen at any time. The 2021 theme is “Prepare to Protect. Preparing for disasters is protecting everyone you love.”
One of this year's weekly themes is “Teach Youth to Prepare for Disasters.” This webinar will feature a discussion on FEMA youth preparedness programs and other resources that encourage youth to take preparedness actions at school, home, and in their communities. Guest speakers include Chief Deputy Director at Cook County Emergency Management and Regional Security and a student panel of FEMA Regional Youth Preparedness Council members.
