Chief Counsel

Adrian Sevier serves as the Chief Counsel of FEMA.  As the principal legal officer for the agency, Mr. Sevier is legal advisor to the FEMA Administrator and FEMA senior leadership, serves as the agency Ethics Official, and is responsible for the direction and management of the Office of Chief Counsel law firm and the FEMA Office of Alternative Dispute Resolution.

Mr. Sevier joined FEMA in 2000.  Prior to becoming Chief Counsel he served as a field attorney deployed to disaster field offices, a staff attorney at FEMA Headquarters, and, for eight years, Deputy Chief Counsel.

Prior to joining FEMA, Mr. Sevier was a litigator in private practice in Boston, specializing in the areas of employment, civil rights and constitutional law.  Mr. Sevier received his law degree from Northeastern University School of Law.
