CBRN Air-Purifying Escape Respirator (APER) designed for escape from hazardous environments (certified by NIOSH as compliant with the CBRN approval criteria).

Grant Notes:

DHS has adopted the NIOSH standard for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Air-Purifying Escape Respirator (APER) and CBRN Self-Contained Escape Respirator. Only APERs certified by NIOSH as compliant with this standard are allowable.
