CHARLOTTE COUNTY RECOVERY AT A GLANCE [https://www.fema.gov/fact-sheet/charlotte-county-recovery-glance] Release Date: oct 19, 2022 Since the federal disaster declaration for Hurricane Ian, Charlotte County residents have received more than $46.2 million in federal funds as of Oct. 17, 2022: * $36.5 MILLION in FEMA grants to homeowners and renters. * $711,000 in claims paid to National Flood Insurance Program policyholders. * $9 MILLION in U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) low-interest disaster loans approved for homeowners, renters and businesses. INDIVIDUAL ASSISTANCE IN CHARLOTTE COUNTY * 17,708 homeowners and renters have been approved for $36,560,442 in federal grants through FEMA’s Individuals and Households Program. This includes: * $21,589,302 in Housing Assistance grants for home repair, home replacement, and/or rental assistance. * $4,971,139 in Other Needs Assistance grants to replace essential household items and for other critical disaster-related expenses. * 1,393 homeowners and renters have been approved for rental assistance. * 11,662 home inspections issued; 7,756 completed. * DISASTER SURVIVOR ASSISTANCE (DSA) visited 672 households in Charlotte County. U.S. SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION SBA has approved $ 9,008,620 in low-interest disaster loans to 137 applicants in Charlotte County. NATIONAL FLOOD INSURANCE PROGRAM NFIP has paid $711,000 to policyholders who filed claims in Charlotte County. PUBLIC ASSISTANCE Charlotte County was approved for assistance for debris removal, emergency protective measures and permanent work.
