VENTURA COUNTY RECEIVES $2.6M TO PROVIDE COVID-19 VACCINES

OAKLAND, CALIF. – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
provided Ventura County $2.6 million to distribute and administer
approximately 306,000 COVID-19 vaccines at four vaccination centers
open seven days a week for 90 days from Feb. 1 to Apr. 30.

The grant reimburses county expenses for labor, security,
refrigeration, supplies, equipment and facility rental to support the
operation.

The $2.6 million project is funded through FEMA’s Public Assistance
program, which provides grants to government organizations and certain
private nonprofit organizations following a presidential disaster
declaration to quickly respond to and recover from major disasters or
emergencies.

FEMA continues working with our partners ─ including the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention and other federal agencies ─ along
with state, tribal and territorial authorities, private sector
partners and others to assist, augment and expedite vaccinations in
the United States.

disease.
