How to File an Appeal for the New Incident Period

If you have already registered with FEMA for disaster related damage that occurred between March 9, 2019, and April 1, 2019, AND your home received additional uninsured damage through July 14, 2019, you may be eligible for additional assistance. You do not need to reapply. Please submit an appeal letter to FEMA requesting reassessment.

Twenty-six counties were designated for FEMA Individual Assistance for the April 29–July 5 storms, tornadoes and flooding. You are encouraged to register with FEMA if you live in one of the 26 counties: Andrew, Atchison, Boone, Buchanan, Callaway, Carroll, Chariton, Cole, Greene, Holt, Jackson, Jasper, Jefferson, Lafayette, Lewis, Lincoln, Livingston, McDonald, Miller, Newton, Osage, Pike, Platte, Pulaski, St. Charles and Saline.

The deadline to register is Monday, Sept. 9.

Disaster Recovery Center Opens August 19 in Newton County

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – A FEMA disaster recovery center will open for three days in Newton County starting Monday, August 19, to provide one-on-one assistance to Missouri residents affected by spring flooding, severe storms and tornadoes.

 

Additional Flood Assistance May Be Available for Nebraskans

LINCOLN, NE - At the request of Gov. Pete Ricketts, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has extended the incident period in which disaster-caused damage may be covered. The presidential disaster declaration, issued March 21,2019, originally covered the period from March 9 to April 1. With the extension, additional uninsured damage sustained through July 14 may now be eligible for FEMA assistance and U.S.

Disaster Recovery Center Opens August 16 in Carroll County

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – A FEMA disaster recovery center will open for three days in Carroll County starting Friday, August 16, to provide one-on-one assistance to Missouri residents affected by spring flooding, severe storms and tornadoes.

 

FEMA Teams in Jackson County August 15-20 to Share Repair, Rebuilding Advice

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – FEMA’s mitigation experts are visiting Kansas City in Jackson County August 15-20 to offer home-improvement tips on rebuilding better and stronger after this year’s severe storms in Missouri.

 

The team will also share proven methods to prevent or reduce damage from a disaster. Most of the information and free publications are aimed at general contractors and those willing to take on do-it-yourself projects.

Help Available for Missouri Residents Feeling Stress After Disasters

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The state of Missouri has received federal funding for a program that provides counseling for residents feeling stressed or overwhelmed because of the April 29-July 5 storms and flooding.

 

President Authorizes Extension of the Incident Period for Nebraska

LINCOLN, NE - Residents in Dawson County can now register with the Federal Emergency Management Agency for uninsured damage sustained from the March 9 to July 14 storms and flooding.

St. Charles County Recovery Center Ceases Operations August 20 but Help Still Available
