FEMA Approves $1.6 Million for Repairs to Roadways in Lynchburg and Halifax

PHILADELPHIA – The Commonwealth of Virginia will receive $1,165,728.53 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for repairs to Lynchburg/Halifax Roadways damaged as a direct result of Tropical Storm Michael, FEMA-DR-4411-VA.

FEMA Approves $6.5 Million for Virginia Mitigation Projects

PHILADELPHIAThe Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is announcing funding for the Commonwealth of Virginia for mitigation projects through the Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) Grant Program. FMA provides funding to states, territories, federally-recognized tribes and local communities for projects and planning that reduce or eliminate long-term risk of flood damage to structures insured under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).

FEMA Approves $52 Million for the Replacement of Herbert Hoover High School

The State of West Virginia will receive $52,304,385.75 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the replacement of Herbert Hoover High School, which was damaged as a result of FEMA-DR-4273-WV (Severe Storms, Flooding, Landslides and Mudslides).

FEMA to Evaluate Readiness of Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

The Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency will evaluate a biennial emergency preparedness exercise at the Limerick Generating Station in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. The exercise will take place November 19, 2019 to test the ability of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to respond to an emergency at the nuclear facility.
