FEMA Awards Nearly $3 Million for 2018 New Hampshire Storm Recovery

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded nearly $3 million in federal grants to communities throughout the New Hampshire for damages from two severe winter storms and flooding events that occurred in March of 2018.

In June 2018, as a result of these storms, President Trump granted two major disaster declarations for the State of New Hampshire, triggering the release of federal funds under FEMA’s Public Assistance and Hazard Mitigation grant programs.

FEMA Approves $926,980 to Maine Department of Transportation for Debris Removal

 

REGION 1 – The Maine Department of Transportation will receive $926,980 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the costs incurred to remove debris as a result of anOctober 29-November 1, 2017, severe storm and flooding event.  This funding was brought to fruition by a partnership between FEMA and the Maine Emergency Management Agency.

REGION 1- The Vermont Electric COOP will receive $1,280,844 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the cost incurred due to damage to the COOP's electrical transmission system as a result of a May 4-5, 2018, severe storm and flooding event. This funding was brought to furition by a partnership between FEMA and Vermont Emergency Management.
