FEMA Awards $1,015,896 Grant to Jackson County


CHICAGO – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has released $1,015,896 in Pre-Disaster Mitigation (PDM) funds to Jackson County for the construction of a safe room in the Maumee Scout Reservation, a 640-acre camp owned by the Hoosier Trails Council—Boy Scouts of America, in Jackson County, Ind.

Indiana’s FEMA Integration Team Announced Today

CHICAGO –FEMA staff are now beginning to be assigned to Indiana’s emergency management agency, continuing the rollout of the FEMA Integration Team (FIT) program. As the third state nationwide to establish a FIT, FEMA and the Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS) will be co-located in Indianapolis to allow for improved coordination of plans and actions and foster greater collaboration in preparing for future disasters.
