FEMA Awards More Than $2.2 Million For Crisis Counseling Services in Illinois

CHICAGO – FEMA has released today more than $2.2 million in grant funding to the state of Illinois for crisis counseling services to assist residents struggling with stress and anxiety as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.  The assistance is being made available under the major disaster declaration for COVID-19 previously approved by President Trump on March 26, 2020.

President Donald J. Trump Approves Major Disaster Declaration for Illinois

WASHINGTON — FEMA announced that federal emergency aid has been made available for the state of Illinois to supplement the state, tribes and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic beginning on Jan. 20, 2020 and continuing.

The President's action makes federal funding available for Crisis Counseling for affected individuals in all areas of the state of Illinois.

FEMA Awards $2,315,890 Grant to Des Plaines

 

CHICAGO – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has released $2,315,890 in Pre-Disaster Mitigation (PDM) funds to Des Plaines, Illinois, for the acquisition of 13 floodprone homes.
