FEMA Awards Delaware $779 Thousand to Help First Responders in 2019

Our firefighters, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responders and State Fire Academies work hard every day to keep our communities safe. They rely on equipment, training and resources to make sure that when there is an emergency, such as a building fire or medical emergency, they can respond quickly and efficiently.

FEMA, Mid-Atlantic States focus on Training in 2019

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region III, in close coordination with our state partners, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia, increased the number of trainings offered throughout the region in 2019. FEMA jointly hosted 38 state partner trainings this year covering a wide variety of topics including overviews of FEMA programs, volunteer and donations management, debris management, hazard mitigation, long-term recovery and sheltering.
