WASHINGTON – FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the state of Arkansas to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding from June 23-24, 2019.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Free hazard mitigation consultations are available from FEMA representatives by visiting local home improvement stores in Garland, Independence, Mississippi and Washington counties.

Mitigation advisers will be on hand at Home Depot in Fayetteville and Batesville, and Lowe’s in Hot Springs and Blytheville to answer questions about mitigation activities and protecting homes from future disaster-related damage. Topics will include flood insurance and elevating utilities, with most of the information geared toward do-it-yourself work and general contractors.

Deadline for Arkansans to register for federal assistance is midnight Aug. 7

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — One day remains for survivors to register for federal assistance for damages sustained in the Arkansas flooding that occurred from May 21 to June 14.

The deadline is Wednesday, Aug. 7, at midnight.

Deadline for local governments, nonprofits to apply for Public Assistance is Aug. 8

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Disaster recovery officials from the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management (ADEM) and FEMA urge disaster-impacted Arkansas counties, municipalities and nonprofits to submit Requests for Public Assistance (RPAs) to ADEM no later than Aug. 8.

 

Get Rebuilding Tips at a Home Improvement Store in Arkansas and Pulaski Counties August 5 – August 10

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Flood survivors in Arkansas and Pulaski Counties and surrounding areas who are rebuilding or repairing their homes after the flooding and severe storms that occurred May 21 to June 14 can get a free hazard mitigation consultation from FEMA representatives by visiting a local home improvement store.

Little Rock, Ark. – Arkansas/FEMA Disaster Recovery Center in Pine Bluff (Jefferson County) is scheduled to close on Tuesday, August 6 at 3 p.m.
