Where it rains, it can flood. And that means flooding happens both inside and outside of FEMA-identified, high-risk flood areas, called Special Flood Hazard Areas (SFHAs). In this webinar, hear from FEMA some common reasons why flooding happens outside the SFHA. Learn why preventing, tracking, and mitigating non-SFHA flooding is important. Local flood risk information helps promote smart, resilient development and redevelopment. Hear more about it from the City of Fort Worth, Texas, a community engaging in non-FEMA flood risk initiatives.

One hour of Continuing education credit is approved through the Association of State Floodplain Managers for Certified Floodplain Managers (CFMs®).
