FEMA’s National Integration Center is seeking public feedback on the Radio Direction Finding Team resource typing definition. This 30-day national engagement period will conclude at 5p.m. EDT on June 24.

This resource typing document enhances the interoperability and effectiveness of mutual aid by establishing baseline qualifications for Radio Direction Finding NIMS-typed teams. This facilitates the sharing of deployable resources at all jurisdictional levels.

The Radio Direction Finding Team is responsible for conducting electronic direction-finding operations in support of search and rescue operations. The document has been updated with having only a Type 1 or Type 2, updated the capabilities for the team to better reflect the latest operational time of a team, increased the number of communications operations for team members, added capability to work parallel with trained medical personnel and added upcoming GPS technology for future capability.

National engagement provides an opportunity for interested parties to comment on the draft documents to ensure they are relevant to all implementing partners.

To provide comments on the draft documents, complete the feedback form and submit the form to FEMA-NIMS@fema.dhs.gov no later than 5:00 p.m. EDT on June 24.
