FEMA PROVIDES $42.8 MILLION TO WYOMING FOR COVID-19 RESPONSE

DENVER – FEMA has approved more than $42.8 million in Public
Assistance funding for the COVID-19 response in Wyoming. The
assistance was made available under a major disaster declaration
issued April 4, 2020.

The FEMA funding includes:

 	* $41 MILLION TO THE WYOMING DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH for
community-based testing services at 61 sites throughout the state and
at congregate housing facilities, as needed.  Laboratory processing,
data collection and reporting were also activities covered by this
funding.
 	* $1.8 MILLION TO THE WYOMING DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH for a COVID-19
information campaign that included a variety of media outlets
including billboards, digital, online publications, digital video,
print ads, radio, television, and cable.

This funding is authorized under the January 21, 2021, Presidential
Memorandum for the Secretary of Defense & the Secretary of Homeland
Security and Section 403 of the Robert T. Stafford Act.

For the COVID-19 response, FEMA has simplified the Public Assistance
application and funding process to address the magnitude of this event
and to allow local officials to receive eligible funding more quickly.
These reimbursements play a critical role as state, local and tribal
officials work tirelessly to assist their communities during this
response.
