SBA Deadlines, Open Facilities

The U.S. Small Business Administration filing deadline for the severe storms, straight-line winds, flooding, landslides and mudslides from Nov. 5 to Dec. 2, 2021 was March 7 for physical damage and is Oct. 5 for Economic Injury Disaster Loans. However, applicants may still apply for the former through the SBA website until April 21 by providing justification for missing the March 7 deadline.

Homeowners, renters and businesses in the Washington counties of Clallam, Skagit and Whatcom and the Lummi Nation, Nooksack Indian Tribe and Quileute Tribe may seek loans for physical damage. For economic injury only, entities in the contiguous Washington counties of Chelan, Island, Jefferson, Okanogan & Snohomish may apply.

FEMA Public Assistance and the U.S. Small Business Administration:Until the centers close, SBA customer service representatives will continue to be available to meet with businesses and residents to answer their questions, explain SBA’s disaster loan program and close their approved disaster loans. No appointment is necessary.  The deadline to apply for economic injury is Oct. 05, 2022.

Private nonprofits that provide essential services of a governmental nature in the presidentially designated communities are eligible to apply for FEMA Public Assistance grants for recovery. Those organizations that are not eligible for the FEMA PA program may be eligible for a loan from the SBA. These low-interest federal disaster loans are available in Clallam, Island, Jefferson, Lewis, San Juan, Skagit and Whatcom counties; the Hoh Indian Tribe, Lummi Tribe of the Lummi Reservation, Nooksack Indian Tribe of Washington, Quileute Tribe and the Swinomish Indian Community. The deadline to apply for physical injury for private nonprofits is March 28, 2022.  The deadline to apply for economic injury is Oct. 27, 2022.

Applicants may apply online, receive additional disaster assistance information and download applications at disasterloanassistance.sba.gov/. Applicants may also call SBA’s Customer Service Center at (800) 659-2955 or email disastercustomerservice@sba.gov for more information on SBA disaster assistance. Individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech disability, please dial 7-1-1 to access telecommunications relay services. Completed applications should be mailed to the U.S. Small Business Administration, Processing and Disbursement Center, 14925 Kingsport Road, Fort Worth, TX  76155.
