Environmental Assessment for Lawton Interceptor Sewer Line Protection, City of Reno, Washoe County, Nevada (September 2010)

Main Content
The City of Reno has applied for funding under FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Grant Program to protect the Lawton Interceptor sanitary sewer line. The sewer line is at risk of rupturing during a flood event due to migration and bank erosion of the Truckee River. In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA), the associated Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) regulations (40 C.F.R. §§ 1500–1508), and FEMA’s implementing regulations (44 C.F.R. § 10), an Environmental Assessment has been prepared to evaluate the potential impacts of the proposed project on the environment.
