Position Title:   Economist

Grade:  GS-9/11/12/13

Duration:  120 Days

Under varying levels of supervision, analyze regulatory actions in accordance with the principles and requirements outlined in Executive Order 12866 and 13563, Regulatory Flexibility Act, and OMB Circular A-4.   

Description of Responsibilities:

  • Identifying data necessary to perform analysis
  • Calculating qualitative and quantitative costs and benefits of agency regulations (discounted over time)
  • Estimating population impacts (e.g. small entities)
  • Composing written documentation of analysis results
  • Explaining findings to various leadership levels

Requirements/Experience:

  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Comfortable with Excel and Word
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail
  • Manage multiple projects with competing priorities
