FEMA has two types of facilities operating in Eastern Kentucky to provide in-person help to flood survivors. Different services are available at each type of facility.

Renters in Breathitt, Clay, Floyd, Knott, Leslie, Letcher, Magoffin, Martin, Owsley, Perry, Pike and Whitley counties whose homes and property were damaged by Eastern Kentucky flooding can apply for federal disaster assistance.

FEMA announced that additional disaster assistance is available to the Commonwealth of Kentucky after President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. authorized an increase in the level of federal funding for emergency work as a result of severe storms, flooding, landslides and mudslides beginning on July 26, 2022, and continuing.

If you receive a letter from FEMA saying you are ineligible for assistance, you can appeal the decision and provide more information.
