OAKLAND, Calif. -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) today made federal funds available to help fight California’s Hollow fire burning southeast of the city of Placerville in El Dorado County. Michael D. Brown, under secretary of Homeland Security for Emergency Preparedness and Response, approved the latest request for federal fire management assistance for the Hollow fire at 7:33 p.m. EDT. The request, the fourth one approved this week, was made by the state at 5:35 p.m. EDT.
