NEW YORK – Auf Anfrage des Staates New York hat die FEMA eine 30-tägige Verlängerung der überbrückenden Unterkünfte (Transitional Sheltering Assistance – TSA) genehmigt. Dieses Programm erlaubt es in Frage kommenden Sturmopfern des Hurrikans Sandy, in teilnehmenden Hotels zu wohnen, bevor sie zu ihrem eigenen Wohnplatz zurückkehren können. Das letzte Checkout-Datum ist somit nun auf den 06.12.2013 festgelegt worden – die FEMA meldet sich bei den Betreffenden telefonisch, um dieses Datum durchzugeben.

NEW YORK – Vier Notfallzentren in den Landkreisen Nassau und Suffolk werden ab Mittwoch, den 1. Mai um 9 Uhr zu SBA-Beratungsstellen.Die durch die   US-Behörde für Kleinunternehmen (SBA) betriebenen Beratungsstellen sind Montag bis Freitag von 9 Uhr bis 18 Uhr und am Samstag von 9 Uhr bis 15 Uhr geöffnet.

Public Assistance - Dollars Approved

Public Assistance (PA): Disaster grant assistance available for communities to quickly respond to and recover from major disasters or emergencies declared by the President

Emergency Work (Categories A-B): Work that must be performed to reduce or eliminate an immediate threat to life, protect public health and safety, and to protect improved property that is significantly threatened due to disasters or emergencies declared by the President

Permanent Work (Categories C-G): Work that is required to restore a damaged facility, through repair or restoration, to its pre-disaster design, function, and capacity in accordance with applicable codes and standards
