WASHINGTON -- FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the state of Mississippi to supplement state, tribal and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by Hurricane Ida from Aug. 28-Sept. 1, 2021.

Pennsylvania homeowners in Bedford, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, Northampton, Philadelphia, and York counties whose furnaces, septic systems, bridges and/or wells were damaged between Aug. 31, 2021 - Sep. 5, 2021 by the remnants of Hurricane Ida may be eligible for financial assistance under FEMA’s Individuals and Households Program.

Delaware and Dauphin counties are now eligible to receive Public Assistance (PA) - PA provides funding for repairs of public infrastructure. Federal aid has been granted to augment state and local recovery efforts in the areas damaged by the Remnants of Hurricane Ida. Damage assessments are continuing, and additional counties may be designated at a later date.

Hurricane Ida survivors will be able to meet with FEMA Disaster Survivor Assistance specialists at Southern University in Baton Rouge until Thursday, Oct. 28.
FEMA Event
A FEMA Mobile Disaster Recovery Center (MDRC) will open to help residents of Montgomery County whose homes or personal property were impacted by the remnants of Hurricane Ida. This temporary Center will be staffed with FEMA personnel and representatives of other federal and state agencies to assist with registration and answer questions about disaster assistance programs.
