ONTARIO CO, NY — The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is inviting Ontario County, NY residents to an Open House on Flood Risk and Insurance on November 9, 2023. Residents will be able to talk one-on-one with FEMA representatives, to learn more about their flood risk and to get information on potential changes to their flood insurance rates and requirements.

Residents of several communities in the towns of Yabucoa, Lares and Orocovis will benefit from repairs to more than ten municipal roads, following the allocation of over $12 million from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for damage after Hurricane María.

U.S. Virgin Islands -- Several houses of worship in the U.S. Virgin Islands are recipients of FEMA’s Nonprofit Security Grant Program this year. In total, about $900,000 was awarded to various houses of worship and nonprofit organizations through a competitive application process. These grants will fund structural enhancements to protect these vital community institutions from security related concerns.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) awarded over $54 million in public assistance funds to the Puerto Rico Ports Authority, the government agency that oversees and manages air and sea transportation on the island. This obligation will allow repairs at the Puerto Nuevo Seaport, Yabucoa Harbor, Rafael Hernandez International Airport in Aguadilla, and José Aponte de la Torre Airport in Ceiba.
