Malia Collins currently serves as the Acting Deputy Director for the Office of Intelligence and Threat Analysis (OITA) within the Office of the Administrator. In her role, Ms. Collins provides high level counsel to FEMA leadership, to include the Agency’s Key Intelligence Official and OITA Director, on a broad range of prevention, protection, response and policy issues. Additionally, she is responsible for the execution of the OITA budget and managing acquisitions.
Ms. Collins joined FEMA in 2012 serving as a Program Specialist in the Office of National Capital Region Coordination (ONCRC). In 2014, she joined OITA (formerly the Office of Counterterrorism and Security Preparedness) where she served as a Program Manager and rose to the position of Senior Threat Analyst, providing executive-level threat products and briefings to the Agency’s most senior leadership.
Ms. Collins is a Level I Professional Continuity Practitioner with prior experience as a contracted Continuity Planner for the US Department of Agriculture, as well as several years’ experience providing contracted support to federal, state, local, and private sector emergency training and exercise programs, to include FEMA’s National Exercise Division.
Ms. Collins graduated Cum Laude from Saint Joseph’s University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration.
