Vermonters affected by July’s severe storms, flooding, landslides, and mudslides have two weeks to apply for federal disaster assistance, which may include FEMA grants to repair homes and replace property or low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration. The application deadline is November 25, 2024.

FEMA has opened a Disaster Recovery Center in Lafayette County to provide one-on-one help to Floridians affected by Hurricanes Helene and Debby. Survivors of Hurricane Milton can also be served by the center.

The Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Conover will close permanently 7 p.m. Nov. 12, but North Carolinians still have many options for in-person help at the other 24 open DRC locations throughout the state.
