ST. CROIX, U.S. Virgin Islands – A commitment of $928.7 million to demolish and replace Roy Lester Schneider Hospital on St. Thomas marks a milestone in FEMA’s collaboration with the territory to rebuild the healthcare infrastructure across the U.S. Virgin Islands damaged during hurricanes Irma and Maria in September 2017.

The State of Maine and FEMA opened a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Franklin County. The DRC is a temporary facility established in partnership between Maine and FEMA that helps survivors from the severe storm and flooding from Dec. 17-21, 2023.

The State of New Mexico Disaster Case Management Team and the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Claims Office Advocate Team will host an Advocate Resource Fair in Mora on Feb. 17. The fair is open to everyone; however, it is specifically designed for people affected by the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Fire and subsequent flooding. The fair runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Ledoux Volunteer Fire Dept.

A public notice has been posted describing available FEMA assistance and proposed FEMA-funded actions, including activities that may affect historic properties, threatened and endangered species, critical habitat, or wetlands and floodplains in Tennessee.

A state-federal Disaster Recovery Center will open at 8 a.m. on Feb. 10, 2023, at the Penn VA Coal Carbon Center in Kanawha County to help West Virginia residents affected by the severe flooding that occurred Aug. 28-30, 2023.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Small Business Administration (SBA) will be assisting survivors at the Farmington Farmers Market on Saturday, February 10 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The event will be held at 130 Quebec St., Farmington, Maine 04938. FEMA will have representatives available to answer questions, assist with the FEMA application process, and provide overall support to the community by assisting with disaster related relief. SBA representatives will be available to discuss low interest disaster loans for homeowners, renters, non-profits and businesses of all sizes can help with recovery.
