FEMA has published a Request for Information notice in the Federal Register seeking public comment on the National Flood Insurance Program’s minimum floodplain standards. The notice also requests comments on how the program could better promote the conservation of threatened and endangered species and their habitats consistent with the Endangered Species Act.

Onboarding is now open. FEMA invites TSPs serving any mode of transportation (air, maritime, rail, or trucking) to register with the Program to become a FEMA-Approved TSP. FEMA Individual and Community Preparedness (Regions 5 and 10) are proud to present the first webinar in the series: Personal and Emotional Resiliency in the Face of Disasters on Wednesday, December 15th at 1pm CT/2pm ET. The Residential Coastal Construction course is designed to train participants on FEMA’s Coastal Construction Manual. This manual is the primary, state-of-the-art reference for planning, designing, and constructing residential structures in the various coastal environments.


This course provides engineering and economic guidance to architects, engineers and local code enforcement officials in retrofitting existing one- to four-family residential structures situated in flood-prone areas. The retrofitting measures presented are creative, practical, compliant with applicable floodplain regulations and satisfactory to most homeowners.
