"Safe Schools" Engineers and Architects Evaluate Oklahoma Schools

Moore, Okla., November 23, 2013 -- Engineers, architects and building designers (participating in the Safe Schools 101 initiative and assessment of Oklahoma schools) meet in a classroom at Northmoor Elementary School to develop recommendations for improved safety from tornadoes and natural disasters at the school. The state of Oklahoma with the support of FEMA is spearheading a Safe Schools 101 Initiative (a first-in-the-nation endeavor) to assess the integrity and safety of all its schools to protect its students from the dangers of natural disasters.
