Perth Amboy, N.J., March 27, 2013 -- Chains and straps are utilized by contractors to remove an abandoned boat that sustained damage from Hurricane Sandy late last October. The purging of waterways in New Jersey of hazardous materials is underway and will continue until identified objects are removed. FEMA works in conjunction with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection to clear debris from the waterways and is utilizing funds from FEMA's Public Assistance Program to help offset costs associated with the operation.
