The March 6, 2013 presentation by IPAWS Program Manager Manny Centeno contains information on how public alerting has changed, where it is going, and how alerting authorities need to adapt their plans to adjust to the changing environment. Manny was joined by representatives from the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency and Nebraska’s State Emergency Communications Committee (SECC), where they are currently working with state and local agencies to update their own alerting plans. Alisia La May and Jim Skinner shared their experiences and how they are overcoming the challenges they face as they work to update their alerting system.
