The facility, constructed on a concrete foundation, with a metal frame and glass and clear corrugated polycarbonate siding and roof, was built in the 1990's and was in use at the time of the disaster. Project scope of work consists of permanent building repairs including replacing 16 door hinges, 8 door bindings, 8 door arm closers, clean 8 metal and glass doors, power wash 2,880 SF of concrete floor, wash 2,176 SF of interior and exterior windows, pressure wash 2,160 SF of interior and exterior polycarbonate siding, remove and replace one fertilizer injector irrigation pump, replace 180 LF of weather stripping. Hazard mitigation proposes to raise the injector irrigation pump 6 ft above ground level in order to protect the pump against future flood events. ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW PROJECT CONDITIONS Project Conditions: The following conditions apply as a condition of FEMA funding reimbursement: • Building materials and furnishings that are contaminated with mold growth and are not salvageable should be double-bagged using 6-mil polyethylene sheeting. These materials can usually be discarded as ordinary construction waste. It is important to package mold-contaminated materials in sealed bags before removal from the contaminated area, to minimize the dispersion of mold spores throughout the building. Large items that have heavy mold growth should be covered with polyethylene sheeting and sealed with duct tape before they are removed from the contaminated area. • Equipment such as ice machines, refrigerators, ATV s, forklifts, generators, computers, automobiles, and televisions may contain Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), used in oil, diesel, and other petroleum products, mercury switches, used oil filters, fuel filters, and batteries. The applicant shall handle, manage and dispose of damaged materials and equipment that may be hazardous waste, universal waste, and hazardous materials in accordance with the requirements of local, state and federal regulations. • The City of New Orleans/Orleans Parish enrolled in the National Flood Insurance Program 08/03/1970.
