Fact Sheet HURRICANE RITA FUNDING STATUS, IBERIA PARISH Public Assistance Funding for Iberia Parish and State Payout, Sept. 18, 2007 Total federal funds obligated: $10.9 million Some of this public assistance funding went into the following Iberia Parish projects: * Iberia Parish Public Works Barn – The barn suffered extensive flooding and wind damages. FEMA provided funds to repair the facility, vehicles and equipment. * Iberia Parish School Board – While the 32 schools suffered minimal damages, FEMA has provided $1.9 million for repairs. * Iberia Parish Public Works –$20,000 reimbursed the parish for diesel fuel costs, which powered emergency generators, the use of the generators and damages on a tank that provides potable water for the parish. (MORE) Hazard Mitigation Funding for Iberia Parish, Sept. 18, 2007 * To date, FEMA has received no applications for projects in Iberia Parish. Individual Assistance Funding for Iberia Parish, Sept. 18, 2007 Total Individual Assistance funding: $22.3 million Active Leases in Iberia Parish by Site Type * 6,108 Iberia Parish residents have been provided with rental assistance. * Residents have received a total of $5.5 million in Other Needs Assistance, which may include money for personal property, vehicle replacement, funeral, medical and dental assistance. * There are currently 304 households living in FEMA direct housing who were Iberia Parish residents prior to the hurricanes.
