FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY GRANT PROGRAMS DIRECTORATE FY 2008 NSGP -FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS UPDATED FEBRUARY 28, 2008 NONPROFIT SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM (NSGP) The NSGP guidance and application kit states that the Investment Justification should be double- spaced, Times New Roman, 12 point font, but the template does not permit for double spacing. Should a state submit their own double-spaced Investment Justification or the single-spaced Investment Justification provided? Due to some formatting changes within the Investment Justification template, the spacing has been modified to allow single-spaced responses only. In order to be considered for funding, all applicants must use the Investment Justification template provided on FEMA’s website http://www.fema.gov/grants. As referenced in the Investment Justification instructions, the application must not exceed five single-spaced pages, using 12 point Times New Roman font and responses to each question should not exceed the specified character limitations. How should a state submit the scored applications? Investment Justification applications should be scored using the five point scale provided. The scored applications should be grouped according to final SAA/UAWG determined score (0-5). All of the applications for each scoring category should be grouped and saved as an individual PDF file. The state application tracker should be completed with a comprehensive list of all nonprofit applicants and their individual scores, as assigned by the SAA/UAWG, and saved as a PDF file. The completed grouped applications and state application tracker, a possible total of 7 documents, must be submitted to grants.gov no later than 11:59 PM EDT, May 1, 2008. 1
