The City of Adversity is accepting sealed bids for the demolition of structures on 52 properties located within the city limits of Adversity, and the removal of debris resulting from demolition.
A pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 10, 1998, at City Hall, Room 107, 35003 Tornado Alley.  Bidders, or their representatives, must be present to be eligible to bid.
Bids will be accepted at the office of Taylor Gilmour, Director of City Services, City Hall, room 410, until 5:00 p.m., Thursday, September 24, 1998, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.  If a bid is awarded, demolition should be completed the week of November 23, 1998.  The City of Adversity reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
The Information for Bidders, Form of Bid, Form of Contract, Plans, Specifications, Forms of Bid Bond, Forms of Performance and Payment Bond, and other contract documents may be examined at City Hall, Room 411, 35003 Tornado Alley, Adversity, AS during regular business hours.  Copies may be obtained for a fee of $25.00 per set.  Any unsuccessful bidder who returns such set promptly and in good condition will be refunded his payment in full.  Any non-bidder who returns a set promptly and good condition will be refunded $20.00.
Each bidder must deposit with his bid, security in the amount and form and subject to the conditions provided in the bid package.
Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract.
No bidder may withdraw his/her bid within 30 days after the actual date of the opening.

This project is implemented for the health and safety of the residents of Adversity, and is disaster-related from the flood of the Quake River in April 1998.  The city has obtained authorization from the owners of the structures to proceed with the project.
