Ross Ashley, III Assistant Administrator Grant Programs Directorate Federal Emergency Management Agency SUBJECT: Fiscal Year (FY) 2009 Operation Stonegarden Supplemental (OPSG-S) Guidance and Application Kit The Grant Programs Directorate (GPD) within the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is pleased to announce the availability of the FY 2009 OPSG-S Guidance and Application Kit. The kit should be available online at http://www.fema.gov/grants later today. In direct response to multiple security issues along the Southwestern border, an additional $30,000,000 was dedicated to the FY 2009 Operation Stonegarden Program through the Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2009 (Public Law 111-32). This increased funding will continue to foster cooperation and coordination between Federal, State, local, and Tribal law enforcement agencies to prepare, protect, and respond to threats along the Southwestern border. Please refer to the FY 2009 OPSG-S Guidance and Application Kit for important additional information related to this program. FEMA will evaluate and act on applications as quickly as possible following the close of the application period. Awards will be made on or before September 30, 2009. Upon award, the recipient must amend their original draft FY 2009 OPSG Operations Orders to include funding from the supplemental awards.
