Gruber Assistant Secretary, Office of Grants and Training Kip Hawley Assistant Secretary, Transportation Security Administration SUBJECT: FY 2006 Transit Security Grant Program – Tier 1 *Note: This Information Bulletin applies to States with transit systems eligible under Tier I of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2006 Transit Security Grant Program (TSGP). The purpose of this Information Bulletin (IB) is to modify IB # 223 (Subject: FY 2006 Transit Security Grant Program - Tier 1), issued on October 20, 2006. The modification extends the amount of time that Tier 1 Ferry Systems have to submit drafts of their project plans to DHS for feedback. Accordingly, the second to last paragraph on the second page of IB # 223 is modified as follows: TSA and G&T are available to meet with SAAs and regions to further clarify these priorities and to address any questions. Additionally, regions and transit systems are invited to submit drafts of their project plans through the SAA via the G&T Secure Portal. Each SAA should submit these documents to their respective state’s TSGP folder in the Private Library section of the Secure Portal. Tier 1 Transit agencies, excluding Ferry systems, are invited to submit drafts by December 1, 2006. Ferry systems are invited to submit drafts of their project plans through the SAA via the Secure Portal by December 7, 2006. Each region and transit system that submits drafts will have the same opportunity to receive feedback. TSA and G&T will review the drafts and will attempt to provide feedback to the interested parties by December 15, 2006, based on considerations of volume and resources. TSA and G&T will not rewrite or edit the draft. Feedback is also not a guarantee that projects will be funded. For assistance in uploading documents to the Secure Portal, or for other questions regarding the FY 2006 TSGP, please contact the G&T Centralized Scheduling and Information Desk at 1-800368- 6498, or via email at askcsid@dhs.gov.
