My heart goes out to the families and all who lost loved ones. It is something that you think about all the time and I hope the terrorists who are responsible will get what they deserve. America is the greatest nation in the world and we will prevail no matter what happens! God bless America!! September 11, 2002 One year ago today, I remember seeing those horrifying images that still haunt my memory. I wasn't near any of those places, but I felt the effect like it was in my back yard. A year has passed and much has changed, but as the anniversary drew near it seemed not so long ago. We became so united as a country just following the attacks. I hope and pray that we can stay that way, and that we can love our neighbors and family. I hope that we can cherish the things that we have been blessed with. I know that if we stay united and don't forget each other, prayer and God, that our Nation will always remain great. Lisa I am a student at RI College. Today, 9/11, one year after the terrorist attacks the day seems different. Driving to school today I passed a police/fire station playing the "Taps" on the bagpipes and raising the flag and bringing it to half staff. Everyone was pulled over to the side of the road; there was a feeling of togetherness. We are "One Nation Under God", and "United We Stand". Those messages give me a warm feeling inside as an American! I am so proud to be a part of this nation. On that day, which I will never forget, it made us come together and stand together and to tell the terrorists that they did not win. They did not instill fear in us, they just brought us together, and stronger as a Nation. My prayers are with all the families that have lost loved ones that day. God Bless America. Marlena September 11,2002 a year after September 11,2001! A tragedy happened on that day! I feel for the people that have lost family, friends, and other relationships! Although no one that I know works in the World Trade Center or the Pentagon, Many of my friends lost many family members! And I could feel the pain and sadness! I do now believe in Guardian Angels! For everyone has one! For those people who stayed home sick on that day. Bless you! And for those who lost I hope your life will remember this day! And never forget! I am only 12 years old almost 13 on December 31! I know everyone will try to make a difference in their life! I know people who have lived through this Tragedy will become better one day and remember this through their whole life! I didn't know it was a terrorist attack until the news announced! I was pretty sad when they said terrorist attack! Why would someone want to do such a thing! Please don't blame yourself for what others have done! Its not your fault! Tiffany The moment I watched the horror of that first building collapsing, I uttered these words to my coworkers, as we watched the unbelievable happen, live, on TV: "Our world will never be the same." What I knew, immediately, was that our innocence was gone. Our feelings of safety, security, invincibility, and might were gone. From that moment on, every civilian -- man, woman, and child -- would be subject to the same constant fears that soldiers experience in combat. We would know how Israeli civilians feel whenever they get on a bus, shop in a supermarket, enter a nightclub. And, indeed, one year later, the world is a different place. Yes, the grief and the fear of terror are still with us. But what I didn't expect at that moment, exactly one year ago today, was how upbeat and positive this nation would be in dealing with calamity. With each new story of heroism, rescue, survival, charity, and rallying together, I have become increasingly proud to be an American. Yes, we have lost so much. But, as the song goes, "see how much we've gained."
