Wow...sat here weeping at my computer for the past few minutes watching the images of the incredible events of one year ago today. May our resolve against terrorism, wherever and whenever it appears, continue to strengthen. My heartfelt thanks and congratulations go out to everyone at FEMA for the monumentally difficult work performed and the accomplishments made throughout this past year. God Bless You All! Best Regards.

Hello I'm Aimee, and I'm from Millville Pa. Today was the anniversary of 9-11-01 when the terrorists came with our planes and hit our towers. With Americans inside, before 9-11 happened, I thought that nothing like that would ever happen, not to the United States not to anyone. But no one in this world could ever think that because, it happened, and when I was in school, and they turned on all of the TVs and let us see what was going on in New York, I had to start praying, praying for any family, friends, any if anyone knew anyone in the World Trade Center. All I wanted to do was to start crying, but I thought to myself, that I couldn't do that, because there are other people that are sad, and that want to cry.

Well here it is, one year later, our days start as they did that same day last year, people went to work, and they thought that nothing would happen, but than when the planes hit, I wouldn't know what to do, so today at 8:46, when our school had a moment of silence, all I could think about doing is praying, for all of the people who died, and all of the children and wives and husbands, that lost someone, to make there pain go away, but those people that took over the plane, I don't think that they got what they wanted, they wanted to hurt us, and yes they hurt us, probably even made us a little afraid, because I know that I'm afraid that something like that will happen, again. I still to this day can't believe that this happened. Well those are the thoughts thank you for taking your time to read them. GOD BLESSES AMERICA!!

My comments one year later...

It's crazy to believe that one year ago today things were 'different.' We weren't worried about terrorists or flying or war. It's almost weird to think back to what life was like before 9/11. I can't believe it's been a year. I get chills whenever I read other peoples comments, or when I look at pictures. I had thought that I was 'over it' until recently when I was watching a special on MTV and it brought back all the hurt & anger from Sept. 11, 2001. I still feel the anguish that I felt that day. The confusion and the worry is still there. I remember waking up that day, working the late shift and watching the Today show on NBC as the planes crashed into the towers, the Pentagon & the PA field. I was afraid to leave the house! I was afraid to drive 15 minutes to work. I kept my eyes to the sky wondering if a plane was going to come after everyone or crash down on us from above. It's crazy to think that I was like that, but now I know I was not the only one who felt this way. It was chaos. I went to work, it was crazy at work with everyone in disbelief. They actually let everyone leave a short while after to be with our families and it was definitely a time for that. I raced home, still wary that something could happen, even in Kentucky where I live! I thought anything was possible and I guess Sept. 11th totally proved it. But in the year since it's happened, I'm still in disbelief. It still hurts to think about all the lives lost and the lives who mourn them. I hear the stories on television and I feel their pain. I put myself in their shoes and I try to understand what they feel and it hurts so bad. But yet I am proud of the United States! We are the land of the free! And we have totally proven that we are strong and can hold up to anything after Sept. 11th. I just don't understand how people can hurt one another in the ways that our lives were hurt. I am so proud that our nation came together and stood up to this! This day will NEVER be forgotten! I don't even know if there is a way to totally explain how one person felt or feels to this day, it is just something that is 'known' because it happened. I pray for our military, the lives lost, the families who mourn them, our president & leaders daily because it makes me feel like I am making a difference and hopefully one day things will come about and the fighting and praying will all pay off with total freedom and equality.
