New York has always had that mystical attraction to all of us that want to become part of the American dream, it is a city like no other in the world where all cultures mix and become the glorious melting pot that makes this Nation so great. The attack last year meant the loss of innocence for all of us that felt that by living here we would always be immune to this type of violence. Now we join the multitudes with sad faces, tears and pain. I believe in America and I am sure we will overcome but not without more sadness or pain, maybe loss of young lives again, unfortunately we are so imperfect, it is such a mystery to me how can we be so advanced in so many things and we haven't been able to just live with each other in this planet. My husband and I were in New York last year in August, we had a beautiful Sunday brunch at The Windows of the World Restaurant, we have several friends that are New Yorkers, we try to go at least every two years to that Mecca of culture and beauty, we will keep on going but the void is immense. Our feelings are with all of you.

On the day of September 11th,2001, I awoke wondering what I would wear that day,was I prepared for my lab class, and was there anything to eat for breakfast. Not 2 hours later, I was wondering how someone could do such a thing, who were these cowardly people, and was my country going to war.
One year later, I know the answers to all except one of those questions. How someone could do something like this will never truly be answered for me.

The American people have rallied together like never before. Sure, we may have different races, religions, and ethnicities, but in the end, we are always Americans, and one very simple question comes from us all..."How dare they attack America?" America, which has been a symbol of freedom for so long. America, which has endured and will continue to do so long after a few buildings collapse. America is not a building, not a monument, not a place. America is an ideal, a people, a dream for something better. That light can not be extinguished.

I will never forget that day, or where I was when I first learned of the attack. I awoke that morning with a certain innocence about that word, and went to bed that night praying for souls of thousands dead. When my children ask me about that day, I will say that was the saddest day of America's history... and the days, weeks, months, and years following it were it's most glorious.

Thank you so much for the images. We are forever changed but now we are in touch with what sets us apart and makes us a great nation in a complicated and dangerous world.

May God continue to give us the strength we need to have victory over this evildoers.

They hit the buildings but missed America. God Bless us all.

Wow, one year later, and I'm saying this with sadness(still) in my heart. I, along with many other AMERICANS can still see those once beautiful towers, being hit by the planes and crumbling to the ground. This is so unfair to US as a nation. We so often think, "What did we do to deserve ALL THIS?" I wondered many, many times, is it out of jealous people! But, someone so inhuman to do something like this, being called a person, is not worth it. There is no word available to call any of them.

I've watched all the programs on TV and I think to myself, "Are these animals still watching what they did to everyone?" Are they getting a big kick out of all the horror they brought to us? I was brought up in a home that wasn't allowed to hate, and being who I am I can't help it at times and wish that whoever is behind this that we as AMERICANS find THEIR WEAK SPOTS,....Yes, I know it's wrong to hate...I hope and pray that before I leave off this earth, that WE see this person gone forever.

To each and everyone of you that are still suffering. May God give you the strength to carry on.

My HEART goes out to you all.
