I woke up and began laundry. I flipped the television on to an event that changed my life forever. I have never before and will probably never again, feel the wide range of emotions that I felt in the space of a few hours. The horror, the deep sadness, the anger and rage, the terror, the cheering for those who made it out, the pride of my country and my flag - being humbled in watching so many, many heroes......I could never write down the extreme depth of emotions that I felt and still feel. I am proud to be an American! GOD BLESS THE USA! Tracey On the one year anniversary of the most horrific event that I have ever witnessed, I would like to pass on my thoughts and condolences to all those who have been affected and experienced loss due to the events on September 11 2001. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Rachelle For those who suffered tremendous personal losses on September 11, 2001, please know that though we may not say it every day, we do think of you and your loved ones every day. One year later we still feel much of what you feel. The sadness, the grief, the never-ending disbelief. We are all still here, and we have not forgotten the losses you've suffered. We admire your strength and courage. We are touched by your personal stories. We are concerned about your children. Yes, our lives go on, but there is never a day when you are not in our thoughts and in our hearts. We are all connected by this tragedy. We will never forget you. Thank you to the wonderful people throughout the world who have offered their support. Thank you to the rescue crews and volunteers who worked tirelessly to do more than we ever thought humanly possible in an attempt to save lives. And thank you to the service women and men who continue to protect us here at home and overseas. We have much to be thankful for even in such a time of grief. The Nelson Family Fellow Americans and Neighbors My heart goes out to you all, this I can only imagine must be a painful time for many. As a Canadian and your neighbor there is not a day goes by that I don't thank God we have such great friends and allies as our American neighbor. It is only because of you I know I can sleep safely every night. I do agree that the world as we knew it 1 year ago no longer exists. We must do everything we can to stop these terrorists and I hope that the people of Canada will always be there beside you doing whatever we can. As I celebrate my 32nd wedding anniversary Sept. 12 I can only pray for all the women who lost their husbands on that tragic day. May God grant your President George W. Bush the strength to do what he must do to make this world a safer place . God Bless You All Bren Our nation is in a state of alert. We are taking a long look at our families, friends and the people we refer to as neighbors. We are taking stock in what is important about our relationships. It is uncanny how we lost our "neighborhood state of mind" over the years. We need to discover a sense of community and a connection to our neighborhood. America will survive when we return to "the canvas of an artist," Norman Rockwell, the quintessential neighborhood. Our view needs to be inward, a deep look at who we are, and how we can help each other, as a society. September 11th is an examination of our civilization.
