I am 14 years old and I wasn't a victim of 9/11 nor do I know anyone involved with this horrible act. Yet it tears me up to watch the pictures on the TV of the twin towers. I would like to send out love and support to those families who had any members die or that it touched your life directly. You are the people who are making this Country strong. I would like to thank you for that. And to those like me I hope that you too will continue to keep the American sprit alive. Its hard to believe that tomorrow is the anniversary that our country changed. That just last year I was 13 and walking down my 8th grade hallway in disbelief of this all. Watching the grief on those peoples faces and not fully comprehending it all. Now that was a year ago America is still not the same although stronger not the same.

Sept 11th is tomorrow, yet it seems like yesterday that my daughter called to say, "Mom, are you up? Turn on the TV". I did and was horrified. I told her to hang on while I put through a conference call to my son's cell phone in NYC. He answered, they were at home, his day off and his wife had decided to take the day with him. As we were talking with him, he screamed, "Oh My God, another plane has hit the other tower!" He then said, "Mom we have to go, we have too many friends in those buildings!" My son is a chef and he went to help fix food for whomever needed it. I simply did not go to work, I was affixed to the TV and crying buckets of tears, as I have done many days since then. While I have been in the USA and seen other atrocities, this one hit me really hard, as it was in my own country.

The whole family flew to NYC for Xmas, and it helped for all of us to be together, and let the healing begin. That does not mean that we will forget, but it shows that Americans, no matter the color, race or creed will stand together and become stronger because of this horrible deed.

I feel fortunate to be an American, God Bless you each and every one.

As I look back, tears still fall. As I look ahead, I fear that "FREEDOM", as we "KNEW IT", is no longer, or at least on hold. My heart hurts, not just for myself, But also for MANKIND as we know it today....LORD let there be a tomorrow...

Those in our community were in shock as the images of the disaster were shown on the news. In a few hours all our lives were changed. God and family took on a whole new meaning and we realized what was really important in life.

Let us not forget the unity we felt on that day and the days that followed. We are one nation under God and that terrible day in history has only made us stronger. We are not Republicans or Democrats......we are Americans and proud of it.

We will never forget. God bless America and its heroes who died that others might live, who forced that plane down, and who went into buildings that most knew they might not come out of. Those of us who were alive, remember where we were when President Kennedy was assassinated, when JFK Jr's plane went down, and now...when the events of 9/11 took place. We will never forget. We owe that to those heroes.
