I took a picture from the Statue of Liberty in August of 2001 of the NY skyline and the towers are off to the left. I keep it in a frame and look at it everyday, to remind myself that life is so precious. Never leave a word unspoken, you never know when it could go unsaid. NYC is the greatest city in the world!

Words cannot express the thoughts that run through my mind every time I hear an airplane above.

Like most people I will never forget my feelings of that day. We must as a nation never again become complacent about our country or our safety. If we do not learn to view the world differently all those deaths will have been in vain. This could happen again. We are part of the "big bad world" now. Time to grow up. We are just as vulnerable as other countries. It is time to know how to protect ourselves from terrorism, and how to fight back. We have believed no-one could hurt us. And we expected our government to handle it all. But now we have to come together as one, helping our government and neighbors.

We will never be the same! We will be stronger, prouder, more united and ever more grateful to those who gave the ultimate. We will NEVER forget!! To our HEROES,thank you isn't enough. God Bless you. To the people across the world who also lost someone, God Bless you too. TO THE WORLD, God has brought us to it, and HE will get us through it. It will take MORE than an act of man to extinguish the USA, the spirit of her people, and all of what she stands for. We may disagree about a lot of things here, but when you make us a target, this family will stand together side by side and YOU WILL NOT WIN!!

For me the impact of 9/11 did not truly hit me for a few days. I was in such disbelief. However, I remember vividly when I finally broke down and cried. I was reflecting back to the night before (9/10) when all those people on all 4 flights were preparing for their trips. Some may have said, "no I shouldn't have dessert tonight"; "when I get back from this trip we'll do..."; or whatever it might have been. I lost it. We all go through our daily lives thinking there will always be tomorrow but September 11th proved that we don't know what joys or sorrows life will bring. Now as the first anniversary is upon us I find it hard to believe it has been 1 year. It seems like it was last week. In the past year as holidays have come and gone I have thought of the families who lost a loved one. Every time my life seems to be going wrong I think of all of those families going through such a horrible time in their lives. I think of all of those babies born without their father. Tomorrow I plan to attend a memorial service at my church and wear red, white & blue to remember those we lost and in honor of those defending our freedom. God Bless America!
