The FEMA Remembrance Gallery is a beautiful tribute to those who died, to those who participated in the rescue effort and to the resolve of this country. Thank you for sharing it.

September 11 was, without exception, the most frightening day of my life. I watched the horror unfold on television and became physically ill. As the one year anniversary approaches, the images from that day are still fresh and haunting. I continue to pray for all the innocent people who perished and for their families. God Bless our President and God Bless our beautiful America!

September 11, 2001 has changed all of our lives forever, for me it feels like yesterday and haunts me often in my dreams. So many tears I have cried. My heart goes out to all of those who lost their loved ones and had to go through this horrible act of terror. We all must remember to be strong because survivors are people who face adversity and win! We are wounded by circumstances, others, or simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time, but we must not let ourselves live in pain forever. We are a community of BRAVE and STRONG and we can overcome anything!!! WE ARE AMERICA!!!! I love all of you - my prayers, love, thoughts are with you!

We were far away but still so afraid. My two small children didn't understand why I cried in front of the television all day but they could feel that something was wrong. We knelt in prayer for the lives lost of innocent people, heroes and for the loved ones that would have to go on without them.

Then we cheered and cried as we listened to our President. He gave us confidence and hope.

Through the year our patriotism grew ever strong. We have watched the rubble be hauled out, and though we may never know first hand the terror those rescue workers and clean up crews saw we will forever be grateful for them.

I have often wanted to go and help at Ground Zero or the Pentagon. I'm not trained in anything except being a mother and a wife. Why were my family and myself spared at this time when so many others had to endure this trial? I hope that our prayers helped in some small way.

I know that God's spirit looked down upon all the amazing people who were there, both those who lived and those who did not, and those who a year later are still trying.

I'm thankful for our country, our President, our patriotism. I am thankful that I will get to teach my children of the heroes of this terrible event, and let them know that America is strong, that America is invincible.

We should be proud of how the Nation rallied and supported one another. To remember how the nation grieved as one will be with me always. To those who lost loved ones I can only imagine the memories they'll endure. It's a shame to think it took such a tragedy to make me realize how proud I am to be an American! God Bless you all.
