Thank you for this memorial to the tragedy of 9/11. I will never, never forget the sight of only one tower standing and engulfed in flames and smoke. I work on West 34th Street, near 10th Avenue. When I heard from a coworker that a plane hit our beautiful Twin Towers, I thought, like many others, it was a tragic accident. But soon after, the second was hit, and the Pentagon was hit, and another plane in Pa. crashed. I felt ill, I couldn't believe it...I didn't want to believe it.......I immediately, along with my friend, Carl, hurriedly walked down to Eleventh Avenue and 34th, as I knew there was a clear view downtown. I couldn't catch my breath..."this looks like a movie set.....where's Bruce Willis." I wasn't trying to be funny or clever, it just could not have been real!!! There were many people just standing there, all with tears in our eyes, and saying "no, no...oh my God, no" Within a few minutes, we walked back to our office in silence. Just ten minutes later, the second tower fell.....I felt like the walls were closing in, and I could not breathe...Oh my God, all of those people. I started to call my friends that worked in the area, and left messages..."please call me, when you get this message....please". I was lucky, I didn't lose anyone that I knew personally, but I truly feel that I lost each and every one of the people who perished...we all lost them. I could not stop watching the coverage, I still can't stop. Thank you to America's Bravest,America's Finest, our Port Authority heroes, our beautiful Rescue Dogs, our EMS workers, our Volunteers, our Everday Working People who helped, and I always, in every bad situation that hits us, thank you, FEMA.

Hi. My name is Stacy and I am a mother of two young children. I have a wonderful husband whom myself and my children adore. But some things you just aren't prepared for. You see, I have never been to NY let alone seen the World Trade Centers. I live in a small town in Tennessee which is virtually never heard of. I know not a soul in NY however, when I heard about the attacks I was petrified. And then I was filled with an immense sorrow. You go through all the emotions....thank God we don't live in NY....thank God it wasn't us....thank God I do not know anyone there.....OH MY GOD! ALL THOSE PEOPLE! WHAT THEIR FRIENDS AND LOVED ONES MUST BE GOING THROUGH! And that doesn't go away.. Yet I knew no one there after all of the media coverage, I felt I did. After hearing all of their stories I feel like I do know them now...lost loved ones and survivors. I in a way feel their pain too...I cry their tears too. I want to reach out and touch and comfort them. Even a year later the pain is still fresh...as though it was yesterday. I will light a candle for ALL the victims lost then and here today. My family will be wearing red white and blue that day....and someday I will be taking my children to NY for that is my 6 year old's greatest wish..to in his words "fix those that hurt". May God Bless NY and all of America!

The pictures are unreal. It is also unreal that it has already been a year. We will survive. We have survived. Thank you.

These pictures are very emotional and I want you all to know that the display is very well done.

Tomorrow is a day we all should never forget and remember the people that have lost a dear love one. My prayers and thoughts are with you all. God Bless.

One year ago, I remember watching the news and just couldn't believe what I was seeing happen. I still pray for the families and friends who lost someone on that day. May God Bless them all. It left me empty inside and hurt for all that were lost, my heart still hurts for them and wish that I could have helped in trying to find someone still alive. May GOD BLESS ALL THAT HELPED.
