Peggy I want to say as Sept. 11 th approaches that I cant believe that it has been a year already. It doesn't seem like its been that long ago. My heart goes out to all the families, friends, coworkers who lost someone on that day. I am proud of the people who brought down the plane in the field in PA. and I hope that their children remember them as heroes cause in my eyes and the eyes of my 3 children they are and always will be. I might not have lost someone close but I did lose some of my fellow Americans in a tragic way. I also feel sorry for all the babies who were born on that day. They will truly never have a happy birthday. That day will bring back both sad and happy memories. I wish that there was something to say to all the people who lost someone but I know words are never enough. But I can say this I will never forget their loved one who was lost on that day. They will forever be in my thoughts and prayers. I will also say this I did not on that day or will I ever let the terrorists who did this terrible thing EVER win. I will not be scared to fly or go to New York or Washington. I wont let my children feel afraid of what might happen next. I have faith in our leaders that they will learn from what happened and learn what we came from it and pray that they do everything in their power to try and prevent it from ever happening again. In closing I would like to say I will remember those lost on that day and also all the heroes from that day and thank and pray for our armed forces that they all be protected from anything like this happening again. Joanne who will forget, nobody...it was the most beautiful day, I think that is what made it so unbelievable...everything was so pristine and beautiful, how could we believe that the monsters would do such a thing to our lovely nation and our people...it only reminds us, today...a year, later, that....they took precious lives, but we are so precious, and care so much for others, that we honor and respect each other more than ever, and if anything, they have reminded us of the one great thing they can't ever take away........freedom, we have it and we love it, and we will always fight if we must to save it. Bernadette Thanks so much for the photo gallery. It serves as a vivid reminder of the tragic events of September 11, 2001. As a US Army veteran, former New Yorker, born in Brooklyn and worked in the WTC and WFC, September 11th was a reminder of God's amazing grace. For all the years I traveled through via Path and MTA; shopped; visited my dentist and optometrist; ate breakfast, lunch and dinner; and attended free concerts at the WTC and WFC, God has kept me through it all! Praise be to Him! FEMA, thank you for all the work that you do and the service you provide. God bless! Gina As a young person growing in this world I believe that in the wake and I say wake even after a year of this horrible tragedy. We as Americans I think have learned to embrace life, only because we now realize that problems of normal everyday life seem minor, We have learned (or ate least I have). When it can all be taken by coward acts of hatred. As a fortunate person not to have known any of the people who so tragically lost their lives. It does not mean that we have not been permanently affected. If I could send an e-mail, a letter, a card or a public thank you to all those people who risked their lives to save others, and those who spent countless hours, days, and months to save lives and help rebuild America's hope, Thank You wouldn't be enough words to express appreciation. My prayers are with those who mourn their loss.
