Your Comments Five Years Later September 11, 2001 changed not only one nation but the whole world. As we remember those who lost their lives let us not forget just how "United" we became after this tragic event. We need to continue to stay strong so that our children may one day live in peace. Ashley I watched with terror the second plane hit the towers in 2001 from my hotel room in Seattle, WA where I was working; our 4th grandson was just two days old and coming home. I watched the news on 9/11/2006 with the same awe and pain as I experienced then. The world has changed, but the hurt is still the same. We will NEVER forget that day. Our nation was attacked for no apparent reason except that we are free. The number of people lost to this terrorist attack is sad. Our hearts go out to the families of all those lost; and our hearts go out to those who fight for our freedom in Iraq. To all those fighting for our freedom, and to those brave men and women who died for our freedom THANK YOU! Robert & Wilma "As we observe this solemn day in U.S. history -- the fifth anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks -- we as a nation remember the thousands of lives lost and the people whose lives were changed forever. We also honor the heroism of all first responders including fire fighters, law enforcement and emergency medical services, and our citizens who responded selflessly in the face of terror."
